About Our Mid-Missouri Forestry Mulching Crew

We clear overgrown ground in mid-Missouri — the cedar, bush honeysuckle, multiflora rose and volunteer brush that take over pasture, timber edge and fence lines when land is left alone for a decade. The method is forestry mulching: one machine cuts the standing material and grinds it down where it stands.

That approach is chosen deliberately over cut-pile-burn. There is no brush pile left in the middle of the property, no burn permit to pull, no weather window to wait on and no line of dump trucks. The ground material stays where it falls as a mulch layer, which on the bluff country and creek draws south and west of Columbia is the difference between soil that stays put and soil that moves in the first hard rain.

It is also selective in a way heavy clearing is not. On most jobs there is something the owner wants kept — a line of white oak along a fence, a shade tree in the middle of a field, the timber edge that screens the road. Those get flagged on the walk-through and the machine works around them. On hunting ground that selectivity is the whole job: you are not clearing the property, you are editing it.

Every job starts the same way, by walking the property together. The estimate comes from what is actually standing on the ground rather than from an acreage figure over the phone, and it is free. The number you get on that walk-through is the number you pay.
